It’s been over two years since I actually posted any blog post here.
It’s been a roller coaster since then; a brutal genocide, the far right basically sucking all the energy, and the rise of generative AI. Everyone’s been insanely depressed, so the few instances of joy and hilarity were deeply appreciated.
In fact, I have an unfinished draft of a “2023 recapped” blog post that’s far more about geopolitics: that spy balloon, the start of the Sudan War, the fall of Artsakh, Go Rush yaoi (very important), etc etc. But evidently, with so much misery and doomscrolling, perhaps it was best that it was never published.
There’s also something more important: a lot of my internet activity (at least outside those dread winter months) was spent on me just doing fun recreational shit. I discovered more hobbies and skills like sculpting and video editing, and went to Japan for a family trip.
Being the only one in my family who had any grasp on the language, and the desire to revisit Japan one day, I finally decided to actually put more effort into learning the language. The best way to distract yourself from a world that’s on fire, is to idk be a whore! Have fun! Do awesome shit!!!!
Anyway, will I try to blog more here? Dunno. I always wanted a place for myself to blog nonsense, even though I have a new tumblr solely dedicated to ship shit, and bluesky where I practice Japanese (poorly), it’s nice to have a blog that is solely my own.
